Puke of the Day
What Raj Thackeray and his bunch of goons has done is not just criminal but Unconstitutional. It is also highly dangerous - because it is this identity called ‘Indian’ that keeps us together as a nation. Otherwise we have nothing else in common.
As though, having something in common with India is more important than personal/regional/linguistic/tribal identity. This is from someone I rather like — I shudder to think what Varma boy will spew next.
PS: Zero, I have half written a post starting on James Frederick Ferrier. Instinct takes precedence ba.

Wasn’t he the one who said morality and responsibility are the byproducts of consciousness?

Hi,
once again, thank you for the link back…
my point is that there are too many more things that are more important than being ‘indian’ - caste, culture, language, ethnicity, religion —-unless there is a cricket match or a war…..
and it is because of this you cannot disturb the fragility of the Indian Union by tagging other Indians as outsiders and beating them up……
that is assuming that we all want to remain as one country…..
February 7th, 2008 at 3:30 am
Harini, though I did not have a point — the assumption of wanting to remain one country demanding a certain erosion of individuality sounds silly to me.
February 7th, 2008 at 4:12 am
absolutely.
i am ,woman, domiciled in maharashtra, english speaking, hindu, skeptic, maverick, of tamil/ andhra border district stock, independent., … and they are all equally important…. and all these are real identities…. the only manufactured one is the nationality part…..
and if we want to remain a nation, then beating up others who are not like us (which is probably everyone else) is a bad idea…. !!

North of Katpadi is North India.

Harini is right.
Nilu, two formal challenges to your writing. Write without explicitly pointing out how nothing is of inherently superior value than anything else. Let it just be.
February 7th, 2008 at 6:27 am
etho solra, onnum purila.
But yes, Harini is always right.
February 7th, 2008 at 6:46 am
Nilu: Tirupati is north of Katpadi. It is Tamil.
North of Nellore district = North India.
February 7th, 2008 at 7:09 am
Zero, you may be confusing ‘taking a stand’ with holding biased opinions.
Nilu, when did the border extend from arakkoanm to katpadi?
February 7th, 2008 at 8:21 am
